Experiment:FreeLensing

'Freelensing'. Has anyone ever heard of this? Yeah, me neither. But when I heard what it was, my curiosity got the better of me and I had to at least try it out, even though this technique screams insurance claim! You basically take the lens off of the body of your camera and hold it in place and tilt it slightly rather than locking it in place. Did I have a death grip on that lens! I also didn't want to rotate it so far that it came out of the body of the camera for fear of getting dust in there. Interesting results, but I probably won't be trying that one again!

Project 2010:365 Oct. 10-16

oct:10 A birthday card I made for my nephew who's turning 6 in a few weeks!
oct:11 The first (that I've noticed at least!) fall colors!
oct:12 Sunset at the Country Club Plaza.
oct:13 Week 22 of our Farmer's Alliance - green beans, turnips, sweet bell peppers, salad mix, pumpkins, sweet potatoes.
oct:14 Another one that I have no idea what it is, but I want to make something with it! Love the texture!
oct:15 Went to visit the Overland Park Arboretum now that the leaves are changing.
oct:16 Lenexa Chili Challenge! There were probably 80 booths to sample homemade chili from, and I think my husband sampled each and every one of them!

Project 2010:365 Oct. 8-9

oct:8 When I leave the house, I have to turn the cushions so that the dogs won't lay all over them while I'm gone. She has discovered that she's NOT too little to make it on top of my barrier.

oct:9 Check out the rest of Colin's senior session here!

Project 2010:365 Oct. 1-7

oct:1 Saw these beauties on a walk with the dogs this morning

oct:2 2nd round of roasting pumpkins and squash to make into puree for the freezer. Do it now while they're in season and I can buy local!
oct:3 Oh yes I did! Whole wheat pumpkin waffles (using some of the pumpkin puree I made yesterday)! I'll have to make another batch for the freezer.
oct:4 I don't know what it is, but I like it!
oct:5 Found this at the lake near our house.
oct:6 Farmer's Alliance week 21 (only a few weeks left - boo!)...green beans, salad mix, pears, turnips, sweet peppers, butternut squash.
oct:7 Happy Birthday to my babies!

Project 2010:365 September Image of the Month

I know, I know! It's been awhile since I've updated my 365 project. Still taking photos, just being really lazy about blogging them! So, rather than have a bunch of posts hit at once, head on over to my Facebook Fan Page to get caught up on the month of September! You can also view the entire year's progress on my website too!

Here is September's Image of the Month - my sweet kitty looking out the window at...well, I'm not quite sure what she is looking at, but she sat here for quite some time intently staring at something!

Happy 4th Birthday, Dexter & Chloe!

These two look familiar, right? My sweet little bulldogs turned 4 years old today! As you can tell, they were thrilled to pieces to be wearing the hats that mama made them!
