Experiment:FreeLensing

'Freelensing'. Has anyone ever heard of this? Yeah, me neither. But when I heard what it was, my curiosity got the better of me and I had to at least try it out, even though this technique screams insurance claim! You basically take the lens off of the body of your camera and hold it in place and tilt it slightly rather than locking it in place. Did I have a death grip on that lens! I also didn't want to rotate it so far that it came out of the body of the camera for fear of getting dust in there. Interesting results, but I probably won't be trying that one again!

Great Midwest Balloon Fest 2010

This past weekend my husband and I spent Friday evening at the Great Midwest Balloon Fest. This was the event's inaugural year, and I would say Friday night was a success for them! Unfortunately the Kansas weather didn't cooperate and for the most part the rest of the weekend's events had to be cancelled. We had such a great time the first night though! We arrived with enough time to see a bunch of balloons take off for an evening flight, then at sunset another round of balloons set up for a balloon glow. We will definitely be back next year! Enjoy!

Happy 4th of July!

It was a very wet 4th of July, but that didn't stop us from getting to see a great fireworks show!  We huddled under an umbrella, and 'ooooo-ed' and 'ahhhhh-ed' over these:

You can actually see the rain highlighted by the explosions...made them look like they were dripping!

Everything Is Better With Bacon!

My husband is a funny, funny guy.  I open up my computer and see my pretty website, with a big slab of bacon across it, open and waiting for me!  Have you seen this yet?  Apparently I'm a little behind on the bacon humor trend.  Just go here, and you can top any website with a slice of bacon!  Hopefully this makes your monday a little better!  :)
