Overland Park Arboretum

I have a feeling our colorful, nice weather weekends are numbered, so we decided to check out the Overland Park Arboretum this weekend before all of the beautiful colors are gone. I had never been...this place is a photographer's haven! Trees, walkways, installation art, streams and waterfalls...it's beautiful!

After the Arboretum, we headed up to Shawnee Mission Park, to catch some of the colors there too!

Friday Finds!

It's Friday...time for Friday Finds! My husband and I are making little light green tweaks to our lifestyle to be more environmentally conscious (check our our progress on our brand new blog!) so this week I am featuring these reusable sandwich and snack bags from Moo Cow Momma! These are such great idea, they are reusable, washable, and food-safe! They will also save you money in the long run, which is something we think about when making these lifestyle changes! Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze Fun!

This weekend's local attractions that my husband and I visited were Carolyn's Country Cousins Pumpkin Patch and the Liberty Corn Maze. We braved the cold (an overcast, windy 48 degrees) and all of the mud after a lot of rain! We had such a good time, even with the less than ideal conditions! That's what makes great 'remember when' stories though, right?

Carolyn's has lots of animals in the petting zoos. They all come up to you at the fence expecting a little snack!

This is the entrance to the corn maze. You can choose from several different courses, ranging to .7 miles to over 3 miles. We started out on the .7 mile course, and ended up on the 3 mile course! I think we need to sharpen our map-reading skills!

So, if you live in the KC area, I highly suggest checking out these two places. They are a lot of fun! However, I also suggest you not check them out after a lot of rain! :)

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

To bring attention to Breast Cancer Awareness Month, many of the Kansas City Metro's fountains have been turned pink!

Happy 3rd Birthday!

The stars of many of the animal photos you'll find in my shop, my bulldogs Chloe and Dexter, are 3 years old today! Happy birthday to my pups!

I love everything about this...the colors are fantastic, it has a wonderful texture to it - I could stare at it all day and enjoy Fall year round!
